Hey Barbarians & Archers, today we will talk about the resource buildings in COC, their types, functions and importance. So, there are mainly two categories of resource buildings: Production and Storages. There are also some other resource buildings that serve different purposes and are no less than others. Production buildings produce different types of resources and storages store them.
All storages are immune to spells except summoning spells and have more HP than production buildings. Resource buildings take 3×3 tiles space except Town Hall, Builder Hall, Clock Tower & OTTO Hut. In this post, we have given the description of all the buildings.

Town Hall
You are the mind and Town Hall is the heart of the base. It carries one star in the attacks and takes 4×4 tiles space in the base. You can upgrade it to level 14. From level 1 to 11, it acts as a resource building. But from level 12 to 14, it acts as a defense as well. It also stores resources. Upgrading Town Hall unlocks new buildings.
Clan Castle
Clan Castle is a medium to join Clans, participate in wars and take reinforcement troops, spells & siege machines from your clanmates. The troops you take from the clan stay in the Clan Castle. It also stores the resources you get from the war and 5-star bonus in its treasury.
Elixir Collector
Elixir Collector produces elixir over time. You can build a maximum of 7 Elixir Collectors and upgrade them to level 14. At max level, you get approx. 900K elixir/day. You may think it’s just 9 Lakh, but it’s very beneficial in the long run.
Elixir Storage
Elixir Storage stores the elixir you get from attacks and elixir collectors. There are a maximum of 4 elixir storages in COC. Each storage stores an equal amount of elixir. You can upgrade them to level 15 to store more elixir.
Gold Mine
You get gold from the Gold Mines over time. You can upgrade it to level 14 to increase the production of gold. A max level gold mine can store upto 300K gold. You can also boost the gold mines with gems to double the production for a limited period of time.
Gold Storage
Gold storage stores gold you get from the gold mines and attacks. Just like elixir storages, you can build 4 gold storages, upgrade them to level 14 and each storage stores an equal amount of gold.
Dark Elixir Drill
Dark Elixir Drill produces dark elixir over time. There are a total of 3 dark elixir drills in the game and can be upgraded to level 8. Upgrade the drills to max level and it will help you so much.
Dark Elixir Storage
There is only one dark elixir storage in the game. It stores the dark elixir you get from the drills and attacks. It’s also immune to spells. You can upgrade to level 9 and its capacity increases to 330K at max level.

Builder Hall
Builder Hall is the heart in the builder base and carries one star in versus attacks. It takes 4×4 tiles space in the base. You can upgrade it to level 9 and at each level, new buildings and upgrades unlock. It stores both elixir and gold.
Clock Tower
The Clock Tower also occupies 4×4 tiles space. It provides the speed boost to all the buildings in the builder base for a limited period of time. Upgrading it will increase the duration of boost. Laboratory, builders, elixir collectors & gold mines will be boosted by 10x speed for half hour at max level.
O.T.T.O
O.T.T.O is the mechanical and second builder of the builder base. You can build it at builder hall 9 by completing 4 requirements. After building it, you can use the Master Builder in both bases, builder base and home village, for building & upgrading buildings.
Gem Mine
Gems are very rare in this game and there is a very low chance of getting gems from the obstacles. But you can now build Gem Mine in the builder base. It produces 4.8 gems per day and can store 22 gems in it at max level. In the long run, you will get a lot of gems for free.
Gold Mine
Gold Mine produces builder gold over time. You can build 3 gold mines and upgrade them to level 9. At max level, a gold mine has 96K storage capacity and you will get 288K gold per day. As you get only 3 attacks per day, so it’s a lot of free gold you will get per day.
Gold Storage
Gold storages store the builder gold you get from gold mines and versus battles. There are only 2 gold storages and can be upgraded to level 9 to increase the storage capacity. You will not lose any gold in versus battles.
Elixir Collector
Collect builder elixir from the Elixir Collectors in the builder base. Elixir Collectors produce elixir over time and can store upto 9600 elixir at max level. 3 elixir collectors are available in the builder base.
Elixir Storage
Elixir you get from versus battles and elixir collectors are stored in the Elixir Storages. You can build 2 elixir storages and upgrade them to level 9 to increase the storage capacity. You will not lose elixir in versus battles.
